Position – Product Manager for Web Products
Our Client has embarked on a journey of rebuilding all our web products to world class standards such that they become a considerable source of revenue for the company. We need a product manager to take up responsibility and align the technology and design efforts to the business objectives from the websites.
What kind of person will fit the role?
- A person who has had experience in the managing development & design teams for dotcom companies and has been a part of the development team in the past (preferable on open source platforms)
- A person who has worked with and understands several content management systems like Joomla, Wordpress, Movable Type, Drupal, .NetNuke, PHPNuke, Vignette etc.
- A background with a content centric dotcom company would be a plus
- Deep knowledge and understanding of online businesses would also be a key requirement
Job Role
- Business ownership of the web products – ensuring they are implemented, maintained and make money.
- Interfacing with the design team extensively to arrive at apt UI for each of the products.
- Managing the development team (an outsourced partner, a in-house team or on-contract developers). It will be important that the product manager understands technology well and can manage at a macro level, a team of 3-4 developers, system administrators etc.
- Monitoring the metrics of all the web products post go-live and ensuring that they become products that add to the revenue of the company considerably
- Defining the strategy for monetization of each of the web products
- Once the current products are stable, conceptualizing new products on the web that lie in the strength zone for IPF Online and kicking off the most feasible projects from these.
