Cognos Administration Profile with 5+Yrs of exp Responsibilities: * Assists with coordinating end-user support and system troubleshooting * Provide on-call support * Report and resolve BI software bugs * Package Deployments * Administers Cognos 8 security by assigning roles/groups for auditing purposes * Data Source creation and modification * Monitors performance on the application servers * Creates and maintains an inventory of application objects Competencies: * Know the Cognos architecture and infrastructure requirements (e.g. content store, gateway, dispatchers, improve/monitor performance) * Experience with Cognos upgrades, configurations, and installation * Must be able to communicate effectively with various types of customers, employees, managers, and vendors to identify and resolve IT related issues * Excellent knowledge of Cognos 8.3 BI Suite (Administration, Query, Report, and Analysis Studio, PowerPlay Transformer, Framework Manager) * Provide Recommendations for any enhancements to architecture or to reports * Knowledge of UNIX environment to support Cognos PowerPlay Models and cubes * Ability to work effectively in a fast paced changing environment - Sense of urgency * Ability to solve problems quickly and completely * Good understanding of IIS and Tomcat as it relates to the Cognos BI 8.x infrastructure * Report/Package/Cube Migration to newer releases (Cognos 8.2 ?
