Job description Trade Finance Manager / Specialist
1. Assist the Bank in all activities related to Trade Finance Implementation..
2. Sign jointly to approve further accommodating and processing of respective trade product end to end implementation.
3. Assist the line manager in managing a team of Trade Analysts/Senior analysts , mentoring and guiding as well as solving day to day problems
4. Play a main role & assist the line manager in executing the centralization projects for the Global Trade Finance Middle Office.
5. Responsible for handling of all Trade Finance products such as LC’s, document examination, guarantees, inward and outward collection, open account financings
6. Ensure adherence to all control checks, policies and procedures. Initiated preparation of control checklists for trade products
7. Responsible for seamless delivery of entire activities of the department in the absence of Head of Trade Finance.
8. Holding client meeting along with Corporate RM’s to structure trade finance transactions such as transfer / back-to-back LC’s.
9. Coordinate and work closely with corporate RM’s, Risk Management Team, Credit Control Unit, Operations, IT, Treasury on an ongoing basis
10. Perform UAT testing for SWIFT, Core banking system regularly for updates / enhancements
11. Monitor daily reconciliation of Suspense & Nostro accounts w.r.t daily transactions and track / follow up with stakeholders for all pending items
12. Skilled in preparation of Central Bank reports and reports to Ministry of Finance and periodic MIS for Senior Management
13. Coordinated successful completion of Internal & external audit
14. Have trained junior staff to understand the concept of Trade Finance and related transactions. Both on-the-job and theoretical training given on an informal basis.
ACCOUNTABILITIES :
15. Ensure internal and statutory guidelines and procedures as well as uniform rules & practices are strictly followed in order to protect bank’s interest, avoid any criticism by internal, external auditors
16. Ensure full up-to-date knowledge and understanding of pros and cons of trade products and the relevant bank’s policies and procedures at all times within all the team members
17. Ensure that TFMO service clients (Internal & External ) are always dealt within a respectful and professional manner that recognizes their choices, needs and rights and encourages a working relationship based on encouragement,motivaton and support.
18. Assist H-TFMO in implementation of corrective and preventive actions set to avoid any possible customer complains
19. Assist H-TFMO in designing and setting the new controls as a result of Audit comments and ensure their conitinous implementation by the designated staff
20. Perform a variety of the following day-to-day administrative / supervisory duties :
21. Receive incoming mail/swifts/customer requests, distribute the daily work among the staff and follow up the flow of transactions to ensure transactions is finalised only aftter clearing all the missing items or originals and within the determined time by related SLA
22. Identify and monitor actual and potential risk and take pro-active measures in order to control bank’s exposure while reviewing the Trade Instrument and ensure that all relevant
details are congruent with a clean customer application from inception of the transaction
to final collection.
23. Review thoroughly all relevant trade transactions to ensure there are no Money
Laundering or breaching for any sanction before accommodating the transaction
24. Sign jointly for approval on Trade transactions after being reviewed and ensured their
compliance with international regulations and procedures,bank’s internal standards,
Central Bank regulations, Governmental rules and regulations and ICC rules for
documentary credits , Demand Guarantees & standbys, various ICC publications as
applicable, accurately, efficiently and within the established turn-around time
25. Incase of any discrepancies with respect to the above, interact and liaise with all
stakeholders including Coordinating with all related stakeholders of a transactions i.e
Clients, Relationship managers, Risk Management Department, Legal Department ,
Financial Institutions Group , GTB Sales, Compliance Department. and all other
departments in order to ensure smooth and seamless flow of trade business from clients
to processing and then final delivery in an efficient manner
26. Provide active on-going support and practical assistance to TFMO service users specially
corporate clients in accessing specialist help for drafting commercial contracts, letters of
credit, preparing credit conform documents, co-ordinating the involvement of external
support agencies like insurance companies, transport operators, government agencies,
correspondent banks etc., inorder to economize the deal most competitively
27. Respond to customer inquiries and answer their questions within the guidelines
instructed by the line manager
28. Follow up with processing team the flow of transactions to ensure the best delivery time
to clients with the hight product quality
29. Follow up with processing team on reporting requirements and ensure that it is delivered
to internal and external clients on due time
30. Follow up with the team members that all pending original documentations are completed
before sending the transaction to EDMS
31. Follow with the team completeness of the records required by ISO certification
32. All other assigned tasks by line manager
33. Take over other colleagues duties in their absence / leave
Desired Skills and Experience
 At least 4+ years of intensive experience in trade related product .
 In depth understanding of business and functions related to Trade Finance and other
department’s functions in the bank.
 In depth knowledge of analysis of L/Cs, and Standby terms including that of risk
participation and syndication and all types of bonds and guarantees.
 In depth knowledge of all AML procedures and controls
 Ability to lead a team of staff and direct their efforts towards the over all departmental
objectives
 Ability to think strategically and assist in the organisation.
 Excellent innovative, communication, organizing and leadership skills.
 Outstanding PC and software skills which include Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
 Good command over English language
 Possession of professional designation ex. Certified Documentary Credit Specialist
accreditation is a must
 Thorough knowledge in various ICC publications especially UCP 500 & 600, ISBP, ISP
98, URR 525, URC 522, URDG 758 , UAE Commercial Code, various ICC publications.
 Problem solving – capacity to analyze situations, diagnose problems, identify key issues, establish and evaluate alternative courses of action and produce a logical, practical and acceptable solution.
Job Location – Abu Dhabi
Compensation - 1.2k Dirhams Per Annum
