Senior Data Analyst/Data Modeler

Location: Moline, IL

Seeking a Senior Data Analyst/Data Modeler to be involved in analyzing, organizing and massaging application data. This is a contract position for 1 year with the potential for extension for the right candidate.  The assignment will be located in Moline, Illinois.
In this position, you will work with application teams to organize and massage data, design and create database models and test and integrate complex applications.

  •  Degree in Information Technology or related degree, or equivalent experience.
  •  Fluency in English is required.
  • Ability to solve complex problems, apply and modify internal processes and procedures to conform to changing software or business requirements.
  •  Participate in after hours support when necessary.
  • On-call real time problem determination and support
  • Leads the review and formation of processes to create and manage conceptual, logical and physical data models for applications, data warehouse, and data marts.
  • Creates and manages conceptual, logical, physical data models for an enterprise and/or project level where projects are of medium to high complexity and moderate to high in risk.
  •  Documents and maps interaction between business processes, information, and data to ensure that business has data integration for projects which are of medium to high complexity and moderate to high in risk.
  • Performs gap analysis (including problem resolution and change management) and evaluation between information requirements and the quality of design of database and database administration environment of vendor purchased and/or outsource solutions, actively working to share knowledge.
  • Manages physical design creation process and integration of databases to support information requirements where projects are of medium to high complexity and moderate to high in risk.
  • Develops, implements, and supports methodologies, standards, and tools for data management such as metadata management, data mining, data modeling, data cleansing, transformation and matching, data stewardship, data quality, data integration, data security, and data marts.
  •  Provides input to design of application systems and interfaces to ensure data access, integration, integrity, and security for projects which are of medium to high complexity and moderate to high in risk.
  •  Works collaboratively with other data management professionals in the efforts to define database/application performance tuning, data transformation and mapping, backup, and recovery of application databases including design and development of disaster recovery procedures which ensure enterprise data consistency.

Required Skills & Experience 

  • experience understanding and documenting relationships between data as defined by business experts
  •  experience in developing conceptual, logical and physical data models, and in modeling standards, processes and governance practices in use within the Data Management environment.
  • experience generating and testing DDL from database models.
  • experience in the use of Powerdesigner software, model management repository maintenance and use
  • Experience in using Informatica.
  • Working knowledge of Reporting tools - Business Objects.
  •  Familiarity with SAP. Involves conversations with SAP experts.

Must be able to accommodate work hours that facilitate communication with remote team members located across the globe
